The handbook of point lace : with illustrations and descriptions of thirty-four different stitches and a series of designs
An 1870 London instruction manual by Victor Touche, published by William Barnard for needleworkers making point lace, setting out thirty-four stitches with worked designs. The plates print white lace patterns against solid purple grounds: scrolling tape outlines, filled mesh and net fillings, and repeating border strips usable as rules, frames, or reversed-out ornament.
