Handbuch der orientalischen Teppichkunde
A German handbook of Oriental carpets by Rudolf Neugebauer and Julius Orendi, published by K. W. Hiersemann in Leipzig in 1922 for collectors, dealers and museum curators. The 178 halftone plates photograph whole rugs flat on end: lozenge medallions, hooked and star motifs, prayer-niche fields, latch-hook borders and knotted fringe, offering repeat patterns, border strips and field layouts in grey tonal weave.
