Harmonia ex Evangelistis tribus composita Matthaeo, Marco, & Luca
A Latin gospel harmony of Matthew, Mark and Luke by Jean Calvin, printed in Geneva by Eustache Vignon in 1582 for Reformed clergy and scholars. The pictures are woodcut initial letters set in foliage, with acanthus scrolls, grotesque animal heads and palmettes filling the counters, useful as drop caps, ornament motifs or line-art border elements.
