A German devotional picture-book for the church year, engraved and published by Johann Ulrich Krauss in Augsburg in 1706, pairing Sunday and feast-day gospel and epistle readings with emblems for Catholic readers and for use in copper-plate Bibles and postils. Each plate sets a biblical scene in an oval medallion ringed by acanthus scrollwork, allegorical figures with attributes, herms, putti, inscribed banderoles and a small emblem below, supplying ready-made frames, corner ornaments and cartouche forms.
