Heraldic visitations of Wales and part of the Marches; between the years 1586 and 1613, under the authority of Clarencieux and Norroy, two kings at arms

Dwnn, Lewys, d. 1616?, Meyrick, Samuel Rush, Sir, 1783-1848, ed, Society for the Publication of Ancient Welsh Manuscripts, Abergavenny · 1846 · Llandovery : W. Rees · 47 pictures

A two-volume printing of Lewys Dwnn's late sixteenth- and early seventeenth-century heraldic visitations of Wales and the Marches, edited by Sir Samuel Rush Meyrick and issued in 1846 at Llandovery by W. Rees for the Society for the Publication of Ancient Welsh Manuscripts, aimed at antiquarians and genealogists. The plates are repeated wood-engraved shield cartouches with scrolled strapwork corners, hinge-like side clasps and a looped ribbon below, left empty of arms, giving designers ready-made frames, blazon blanks and ornament pieces to fill with type or marks.
