Heraldry and floral forms as used in decoration;
A designer's handbook on ornament by the English illustrator Herbert Cole, published in London, Toronto and New York in 1922 for craftworkers, students and commercial artists studying heraldic and plant-derived decoration. The plates are pen-and-ink line drawings copied from carving, ironwork, embroidery and manuscripts: scrolling vine borders, stylised flower panels, helms with mantling and leaf crockets, all drawn flat with hatched shading and usable as line stock, borders or repeating motifs.
