Heraldry in Scotland : including a recension of 'The law and practice of heraldry in Scotland' by the late George Seton
A two-volume study of Scottish armory by J. H. Stevenson, revising George Seton's earlier treatise on the law and practice of heraldry, published in Glasgow by James MacLehose in 1914 for antiquaries, lawyers and officers of arms. The line-block cuts show single shields with hatched tinctures, charges such as rampant lions, escallops, cinquefoils, mullets and towers, plus crowns and crests usable as compact emblems.
