The heraldry of the Hamiltons; with notes on all the males of the family, description of the arms, plates and pedigrees
A genealogical and heraldic study of the Hamilton family by G. Harvey Johnston, published in Edinburgh and London by W. & A.K. Johnston in 1909 for antiquaries and family historians. The plates are rows of captioned shields printed in flat red, gold, black and pale blue, repeating cinquefoils, hearts, stars, ermine and quartered fields — usable as compact colour-blocked emblems, badge shapes and pattern motifs.
