A French multivolume survey of the wall paintings, bronzes and mosaics excavated at Herculaneum and Pompeii, compiled by Louis Barré with engravings after H. Roux, issued by Firmin Didot in Paris in 1870 for antiquarians and artists. Outline engravings redraw Roman figures in clean unshaded line: draped goddesses, winged cupids, seated warriors, altars and terraced villa views, ready for tracing or vector work.
