Het leerzaam huisraad : vertoond in vyftig konstige figuuren, met godlyke spreuken en stichtelyke verzen
A Dutch emblem book of 1731, published in Amsterdam by Kornelis van der Sys, pairing fifty etchings by Jan Luyken with scriptural mottoes and moralising verse for Protestant household readers. The plates are small square domestic interiors in dense cross-hatched line, showing women pounding in mortars, weighing coins, spinning, sewing over a laundry basket, and children at tables, with leaded windows, curtained beds, panelled walls and rush-seat chairs giving a full inventory of period furniture and working gestures.
