Hint's about men's dress, right principles economically applied
An 1888 advice manual on men's clothing, written by W. H. Barrett and issued in New York by D. Appleton & Co. for middle-class male readers. The plates here are printer's ornaments rather than fashion plates: symmetrical wood-engraved headpieces and tailpieces of scrolling foliage, rosettes, lyres and acanthus, useful as chapter dividers, borders and small spot decorations.
