Histoire de l'art pendant la Renaissance
A multi-volume history of Italian Renaissance art written by Eugène Müntz, keeper of the École des Beaux-Arts library, and issued in Paris by Hachette in 1889 for scholars and educated general readers. Its 564 wood-engraved plates and in-text cuts reproduce paintings, frescoes, niello and engraving, and whole decorated title-pages, offering dense black candelabra borders, grotesque panels, architectural frames with inscription tablets, and figure groups set among classical ruins.
