Delambre's Histoire de l'astronomie moderne, a scholarly history of astronomy published in Paris by Veuve Courcier in 1821 for mathematicians and astronomers. The plates are engraved line diagrams — lettered circles, ellipses, triangles and chords crowded several figures to a page with running heads and figure numbers — useful as thin-line geometric ornament, grid-like plate layouts, or technical linework.
