Histoire de l'ordre lotiforme; étude d'archéologie égyptienne
George Foucart's 1897 archaeological monograph for E. Leroux in Paris, tracing the lotiform column through Egyptian architecture for scholars of antiquity and ornament. The plates are line elevations and sections of lotus-bud capitals, banded shafts, abaci and temple bays, drawn in outline with flat black fills and light hatching, giving designers clean repeatable column profiles and papyrus-leaf motifs.
