Histoire de l'ordre lotiforme: étude d'archélogie égyptienne
An archaeological monograph by George Foucart, published in Paris by Ernest Leroux in 1897, tracing the lotus-form column through Egyptian architecture for Egyptologists and architectural historians. The 64 plates and text figures are line drawings and outline elevations of columns, capitals, bases and entablatures, with lotus bud clusters, banded shafts, reeded flutes and incised relief panels rendered in fine hatching, giving designers a set of clean botanical-architectural profiles and repeating bud motifs.
