Histoire de l'orfévrerie-joaillerie et des anciennes communautés et confréries d'orfévres-joailliers de la France et de la Belgique
A history of goldsmithing, jewellery and the old guild confraternities of France and Belgium, compiled by Paul Lacroix (bibliophile Jacob) and Ferdinand Seré and published in Paris in 1850 for antiquarians, collectors and trade historians. Wood-engraved guild shields fill the plates: cuffed riding boots with spurs, buckled shoes, currier's knives, all drawn in flat line hatching and stipple against ruled or solid grounds, ready for reuse as trade emblems or badge silhouettes.
