A French scholarly history of ancient trade and seafaring by Pierre-Daniel Huet, issued at Lyon by B. Duplain in 1763 for readers of classical and commercial history. The plates in the index are typographic woodcut ornaments rather than subject illustrations: symmetrical tailpieces of scrolling acanthus, palmettes, laurel sprays, fleurs-de-lis and banded centrepieces, printed in solid black line on laid paper, usable as dividers, spot motifs and frame corners.
