Histoire d'un dessinateur, comment on apprend à dessiner;
Eugène-Emmanuel Viollet-le-Duc's 1879 drawing manual, issued in Paris by the Bibliothèque d'éducation et de récréation as a narrative course in learning to draw, aimed at young students. The 113 line engravings pair geometric construction — perspective rays, projected shadows, vanishing points marked with dashed lines — with contoured survey plans, terrain sections and lightly hatched landscape studies, giving designers ready diagrammatic scaffolding and hand-drawn measurement notation.
