A 1784 Padua printing of Gabriel-Henri Gaillard's history, with plates and ornaments engraved by Innocente Alessandri, Pietro Scattaglia and Jacopo Guarana for European readers of French dynastic and heraldic history. The pictures in the index are small triangular tailpieces cut in black line: rococo scrollwork and leaf sprays flanking pedestals that carry a globe with trophies of arms, a basket of fruit and flowers under a sunburst, a bearded mask, and a tasselled lantern between birds, usable as chapter closers, spot ornaments and symmetrical borders.
