Histoire
A 1784 Padua-printed history, drawing on Gabriel-Henri Gaillard's French historical writing, with plates engraved by the Venetian workshop of Innocente Alessandri, Pietro Scattaglia and Jacopo Guarana for readers of noble and dynastic history. The plates are rows of numbered escutcheons in line engraving, with hatched and stippled tinctures, fleurs-de-lis, lions, birds, crosses, saltires and tools, some crowned or flanked by banners and cannon; useful for shield outlines, heraldic charges and engraved texture patterns.
