Alonso Morgado's history of Seville, printed there in 1586 by Andrea Pescioni and Juan de León for local readers interested in the city's antiquities and monasteries. The plates are woodcut initials: letters set against hatched landscapes with trees and water, foliate vine panels, and figures of armed men flanking the strokes, usable as drop caps or small square ornaments.
