Historical and architectural notes on the parish churches in and around Peterborough
An antiquarian survey of parish churches in and around Peterborough, written by Walter Debenham Sweeting with plates by William Ball and published in London by Whittaker & Co. in 1868 for local historians and church architecture students. The plates are faded sepia photographic views of stone churches in open fields — towers, spires, porches, tracery windows — useful as soft-toned architectural silhouettes and period textures.
