An historical guide to French interiors, furniture, decoration, woodwork & allied arts during the last half of the seventeenth century, the whole of the eighteenth century, and the earlier part of the nineteenth
A reference survey of French interiors, furniture and woodwork from Louis XIV to the Empire, compiled and published by Thomas Arthur Strange in London in 1903 for cabinetmakers, decorators and architects. The plates reproduce engraved designs by Barbet and others: chimneypieces, panelled cabinet doors, mirror frames and ceiling compartments in dense line, useful for scrolled cartouches, acanthus borders and symmetrical frame layouts.
