A multi-volume British compendium of engraved portraits and reproductions of paintings, issued with biographical texts by Vernor, Hood and Sharpe in London from 1807 for gentleman collectors and readers of art history. The plates are sparse outline etchings after old master compositions and bust portraits, useful for figure groups, drapery contours, ruled plate borders and clean single-weight linework.
