Christian Friedrich Sattler's historical and topographical description of the Duchy of Württemberg, its towns, monasteries and administrative districts, printed by J.N. Stoll in Stuttgart in 1752 for German antiquarians and territorial administrators. The plates are letterpress ornament rather than views: symmetrical woodcut headpieces of acanthus, ribbons, cornucopias and flaming urns, plus heavy black initial capitals built from thick strokes and spiral terminals, usable as rules, chapter openers and display letters.
