The history and antiquities of the metropolitical church of Canterbury; illustrated by a series of engravings of views, elevations, plans, and details of the architecture of that edifice: with biographical anecdotes of the archbishops, etc
John Britton's antiquarian monograph on Canterbury Cathedral, published in London in 1836 with plates drawn by George Cattermole and engraved by John Le Keux, addressed to architects, clergy and antiquaries. The steel engravings pair measured elevations, plans and mouldings with deep-shadowed interior views of crypt piers, vaulting and arcades, offering precise Gothic ornament and strong tonal contrasts for cutting or tracing.
