History of ancient pottery, Greek, Etruscan, and Roman
A two-volume scholarly handbook on Greek, Etruscan and Roman pottery by British Museum keeper H. B. Walters, rewritten from Samuel Birch's earlier work and published by John Murray in London in 1905 for museum curators, collectors and students. Halftone photographs and line engravings show amphorae, hydriai and kraters with black-figure and red-figure scenes, plus palmette bands, meanders, ivy scrolls and shape profiles usable as silhouettes, borders and ornament stock.
