History of early Christian art
A survey of early Christian art by the English clergyman and antiquary Edward Lewes Cutts, published in London in 1893 by the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge for general readers and church students. Line engravings copy catacomb frescoes, carved sarcophagi, mosaics and lunettes, giving robed figures, orant poses, chi-rho monograms, vines and sheep in flat outline suited to reuse as spot ornament or border.
