A history of English dress from the Saxon period to the present day

Hill, Georgiana · 1893 · London : Richard Bentley and Son · 7 pictures

Georgiana Hill's two-volume survey of English clothing from the Saxon era to the 1890s, published by Richard Bentley and Son in London in 1893 for general readers and students of costume. The plates are engraved half-length portraits copied from earlier paintings and fashion sources, showing ringleted hair, plumed and flowered bonnets, lace berthas, puffed sleeves and coronation regalia in dense hatched black and white, useful for period costume reference and silhouette detail.
