Jackson, Emily, "Mrs. F. Nevill Jackson,", 1861- · 1900 · London : L.U. Gill ; New York : C. Scribner's Sons · 201 pictures

A survey of hand-made lace by Emily Jackson (Mrs. F. Nevill Jackson), published in London and New York in 1900 for collectors, dealers and needleworkers wanting to identify and date lace by centre and technique. The plates are photographs of lace specimens shot against black grounds, so the thread reads as pale line on solid dark: scrolling floral borders, pointed flounces, ground meshes and diagram-like details of stitch construction, usable as ready-made reversed ornament, patterned fills and edge treatments.
