History of lace
A survey of European lace, written by Mrs. Bury Palliser and revised by Margaret Jourdain and Alice Dryden, issued in 1902 by Scribner's for collectors and needleworkers. Photographic plates show flounces, borders and edgings against dark grounds: pineapple and acanthus scrollwork, floral sprays in ribboned medallions, scalloped points, and dense mesh grounds usable as textures, frames and repeating strips.
