The history of the life and adventures of Mr. Duncan Campbell : a gentleman, who, tho' deaf and dumb, writes down any stranger's name at first sight, with their future contingencies of fortune : now living in Exeter Court over-against the Savoy in the Strand
A 1720 London biography of the deaf-and-dumb fortune teller Duncan Campbell, written by Daniel Defoe with William Bond, printed for the bookseller Edmund Curll for a public curious about second sight. The index holds its letterpress ornament: cast and cut headbands, triangular tailpieces, and vignettes of scrolling acanthus, paired birds, cherubs, flower baskets, and a small female bust.
