A history of oak furniture
A survey of English oak furniture by the painter and antiquary Fred Roe, published in London by the Connoisseur in 1920 for collectors and dealers. Halftone photographs and line drawings record chests, cupboards and chairs head-on, yielding carved Gothic tracery panels, chip-carved chevrons and roundels, foliate scrollwork, inscribed borders and dated cartouches usable as ornament and border stock.
