The home-made kindergarten
A 1912 Houghton Mifflin manual by Nora Archibald Smith, written for mothers and nurses running kindergarten play and occupations at home. The single recorded image is a line-cut printer's device: a kneeling figure holding a tool inside a triangular laurel spray with a ribbon scroll reading "Tout bien ou rien," useful as a tailpiece, colophon mark, or motto cartouche.
