A 1727 Utrecht edition of Horapollo's Hieroglyphica in Greek and Latin, printed by Melchior Leonard Charlois with the commentaries of Jean Mercier, David Hoeschel and Nicolas Caussin, for scholars of Egyptian symbols and emblem literature. The indexed pictures are the printer's woodcut ornaments: triangular flower-basket tailpieces, foliate headbands and scrolled centrepieces, usable as small black-line decorations and page furniture.
