Horologium Achaz, Christophorus Schissler, artifex
A monograph by Julius Friedrich Sachse, printed in Philadelphia in 1895, on a sixteenth-century brass sundial made by the Augsburg instrument-maker Christoph Schissler, written for antiquarians and collectors of scientific instruments. Halftone plates show engraved dial faces with Roman numerals, hour lines and zodiac bands, a cast figure holding a gnomon, and a line view of Augsburg church towers.
