How we are clothed ; a geographical reader
A school geography reader by James Franklin Chamberlain, published by Macmillan in London in 1904, tracing wool, cotton, silk and leather from herders and fields to mills for elementary pupils. Coarse-screen halftone photographs show shearing sheds, bale-laden wagons, flocks on open hillsides and groups of workers, giving designers grainy industrial and pastoral scenes with strong silhouettes and heavy dark grounds.
