The Hudson-Fulton celebration. Catalogue of an exhibition held in the Metropolitan Museum of Art; commemorative of the tercentenary of the discovery of the Hudson River by Henry Hudson in the year 1609, and the centenary of the first use of steam in the navigation of said river by Robert Fulton in the year 1807
Exhibition catalogue issued by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 1909 for the Hudson-Fulton celebration, edited by Wilhelm Valentiner, Henry Watson Kent and Florence N. Levy for museum visitors and collectors of Dutch painting and American decorative arts. Halftone plates reproduce seventeenth-century Dutch landscapes, portraits and interiors along with furniture and silver, giving designers soft grey tonal skies, tree masses, river views and object silhouettes on plain mounts.
