Exhibition catalogue issued by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 1909 for the Hudson-Fulton Celebration, marking three centuries since Hudson's voyage and a century of steam navigation, compiled by Valentiner, Kent and Levy for museum visitors and collectors of American and Dutch art. Halftone plates show colonial furniture and silver photographed in groups against plain backgrounds: side chairs with pierced splats, cabriole legs and ball-and-claw feet, turned Windsor frames, tankards, teapots and rows of spoons, each numbered and usable as silhouette stock or period ornament reference.
