Ian van der Veens Zinne-beelden oft Adams appel
A Dutch emblem book of moralizing verse and riddles by Jan van der Veen, engraved by Salomon Savery and printed by E. Cloppenburgh in Amsterdam in 1642 for readers of vernacular poetry. The 88 plates are small numbered landscape etchings of peasants, fowlers, decoy birds, fences and open countryside, paired with foliate woodcut initials containing birds and human faces; useful for fine-line pastoral scenery, bird motifs and decorated capitals.
