An iconography of Don Quixote. 1605-1895
A bibliographical survey of Don Quixote illustration from 1605 to 1895, compiled by Henry Spencer Ashbee and printed for the author in 1895 for the London Bibliographical Society and its collector readership. The plates reproduce outline engravings of Quixote and Sancho among peasants, muleteers and armoured travellers, useful for hatched landscape backgrounds, horses, period costume and crowded figure groups.
