Iconologia
Cesare Ripa's Iconologia, the standard handbook of allegorical figures for artists and writers, reissued in Perugia in 1764 with commentary by Cesare Orlandi and new plates engraved after Carlo Mariotti. Each small copperplate sets a single personified figure — Africa with lion and serpent, a crowned Abundance with cornucopia, a woman holding a ring against clouds — on an open landscape with light hatching and wide margins.
