I dieci libri de l'architettura di Leon Battista de gli Alberti Fiorentino ...
Pietro Lauro's Italian translation of Leon Battista Alberti's ten books on architecture, printed in Venice by Vincenzo Valgrisi in 1546 for architects, builders and learned patrons. The plates here are square woodcut decorated initials, chiefly H and G, set in ruled frames and filled with scaled dragons, bearded grotesque masks and acanthus scrolls, printed in heavy black line with visible paper grain, ready for drop caps, logos or ornament repeats.
