Ignatius insignium : epigrammatum et elogiorum centuriis expressus
A Latin emblem book on Saint Ignatius of Loyola, written by the Jesuit Carlo Bovio with engravings by Guillaume Chasteau, printed in Rome in 1655 for devotional and rhetorical use in Jesuit schools and religious houses. Each plate sets a small hatched scene—comets, altars, sun-struck landscapes, a solitary figure by a tree—inside a scrolled strapwork cartouche with a banderole carrying a Latin motto, giving designers ready-made frames, ribbon labels, lion mask ornaments and stark line-engraved skies.
