The illuminated book of needlework : comprising knitting, netting, crochet, and embroidery
A Victorian needlework manual by Mrs Henry Owen, with a history of needlework by Elizabeth Stone, issued by Henry G. Bohn in London in 1847 for women working knitting, netting, crochet and embroidery at home. The plates are gridded charts: hand-coloured squares in red, yellow, teal and blue on black or cream grounds, plus plain outline counting diagrams useful as pixel patterns, borders and repeat motifs.
