Illustrated catalogue.
A trade catalogue of artists' materials issued in 1884 by A. Smith & Sons of New York, printed for painters, decorators and dealers ordering brushes and supplies by mail. The plates are wood-engraved product views of flat and round brushes shown in profile, with ruled hatching for wood handles, bristle fans and ferrule rivets, giving designers clean isolated tool silhouettes and line-shading textures.
