Illustrated catalogue of China, pottery, porcelains and glass. To be sold at public sale December 10 and 11, 1917
An auction catalogue of china, pottery, porcelain and glass sold in Philadelphia in December 1917, drawing on the ceramics scholarship of Edwin Atlee Barber, made for collectors and dealers bidding at the sale. Halftone photographs show numbered lots against plain grounds: relief-moulded stoneware jugs with hunting and figure scenes, transfer-printed and gilded cups, bowls, vases and jardinieres, often grouped several to a plate, useful as silhouettes of vessel forms, surface-pattern sources, and models for numbered specimen layouts.
