A 1918 Chicago reprint by occult publisher L. W. de Laurence of A. E. Waite's tarot manual, reproducing Pamela Colman Smith's 1909 deck designs for American readers buying divination handbooks. The 84 plates are small vertical cards in flat yellow, grey and pink washes over heavy black outline, showing numbered figures with swords, wands, cups and pentacles against plain skies and low horizons; useful for emblem sets, bordered card formats and limited-palette line figures.
