Illustrated manual for inventors on American and foreign patents, etc
An illustrated handbook on American and foreign patent procedure written by Philadelphia patent attorney and mechanical engineer Rudolph M. Hunter, printed by Burk & McFetridge in 1880 for inventors and manufacturers. The plates are wood-engraved trade advertisements and machine portraits — blast furnaces, rolling-mill engines, gear trains and feed hoppers — rendered in dense cross-hatching with heavy blacks, plus rotated type panels usable as industrial vignettes, spot cuts and mechanical silhouettes.
