An 1880 London exhibition handbook edited by W.G. Larkins, with pen sketches by J.E. Soden reproducing paintings shown at the Dramatic Fine Art Gallery for visiting buyers and gallery-goers. The small vignettes are rapid pen-and-ink landscapes — massed foliage, riverbanks with swans, hatched skies — usable as spot illustrations, chapter openers, or line textures for backgrounds.
